    Hello people,

    I have a Whirlpool Generation 2000+ oven Model No. G2P 62F/SS.

I have recently moved onto my new house and have inherited this oven as part of the built-in kitchen.

My problem is, although the oven seems to make all the correct indications that it is up to temperature (5 little triangular arrows light up after 10 mins or so), when I cook the food, it doesn’t come out hot enough / cooked enough.

I’ve taken the fan guard of the back, and the element looks practically brand new. I ran the oven with the fan guard off to see if element got red hot. It was clearly warm as I could feel the heat when I opened the oven door, but it wasn’t red in colour. Should it be? Bearing in mind I set the oven to it’s highest possible temp.

I’m sure it’s a problem with the element or the thermostat, just not sure which. Any ideas?

    Any help much appreciated!

    Thanks

    Jon.

If the element is producing any heat at all then it’s fine, elements work until the day they fail then never work again.

Unfortunately these do not have a thermostat, they are controlled electronically so if there is an issue with the operating temperature you will need either a new control pcb (£90ish) or a temperature probe (50ish) or possibly even both.
    😥

Re: Whirlpool Generation 2000+ Oven Fault

    Thank you for your response.

Looks like I might be better off opting for a new oven. Don’t want to start throwing new parts at it, when it’s not guaranteed to fix the problem.

This is probably the wrong forum, but any recommendations on integrated ovens around the £500 mark? Any particular brand I should be looking for in regards to reliability?

    Thanks again

    Jon.

    Hi Jon

Is it a single or double oven you are looking for? If it`s a double is it to go under the worktop or at waist height and up?

    Hi Don,

It’s a single under-the-worktop standard affair. Just noticed the one I currently have runs off a standard 13amp plug, so would probably require something similar as the fuse box is at the other side of the house 🙁

    Cheers

Re: Whirlpool Generation 2000+ Oven Fault

    Hi Jon

I would be looking at Bosch or Neff ovens. Well made products, which look good and come with a two year warranty.

For your £500 budget I would take a peek at the Neff B15M42, total load of 2.85kw which should be okay on a 13a socket.

    HTH 🙂

    Hi Don,

Thank you so much for your help.

I’ll check out the Neff oven you suggest, and possibly a couple of Bosch ones as well.

    Cheers again

    Jon.
