My dishwasher is washing very poorly on the upper shelf and when I open the door, whilst the lower arm is spinning and spraying hard, the upper arm doesn’t appear to move and just dribbles water. I have replaced the upper arm but no change and I can see no block or leak in the pipe supplying the arm. Is there a seperate valve in the supply to the upper arm (presumably fitted to the sump manifold) and if so when is supposed to be activated and do you know where I can get a replacement?

The heater manifold has a diverter valve driven by a small motor and gearbox. This alternates supply to the rotors to use less water and cut heating costs. If the diverter valve sticks or its motor fails, then the top or bottom rotor may be affected. Or it could be a water metering issue – caused by blockages in the fill system on the left side of the machine.

The diverter valve is not available separately and forms an integral part of the heater unit. Heater unit priced around £97.

    Power off before investigating. :plug:
