Hi all
The door latch on my machine isn’t working, previously it felt like it was ‘pulling’ against something but now it’s totally free but doesn’t open the door.
I suspect a breakage somewhere in the mechanism, does anyone know a good place to locate replacement parts and how easy they are to fit/fix? If it’s just a broken piece of plastic I might try superglue.
Not sure how it would have broken, can only assume someone tried to open it before the machine had finished and pulled a bit too hard!
My second question – and perhaps more pressing – how do I now open the door to get the clean washing out?!

how verystrange as this happened to us yesterday, same model, i am here searching www for an answer and found this forum.
i hope someone can help, waiting now ’til monday for fagor to agree our extended warranty is in tact :rolls:but it does look like there are lots of unanswered threads here too 🙁

hi mattie. i have taken the top off my machine.
to do this you need a size 20 hex drive. undo the two drive toward the rear on the side of the machine. and then lift the front os held on by plastic clips.
disconnect from the power.
looking down at the door mech you will see the white eletronic door lock then within that you will see the black other half of the handle which seems broken from outside of the door.
then within that black pastic mech you can see the metal hook of the latch. push that toward the drum and hey presto the door will pop open and clothes are free.

I had to pop out and buy a hex drive set, once I had one it was pretty easy to pop the door. Taking the door apart was simple, just undo the hex bolts and the frame divides into two (careful not to let the glass dome drop!) and these can be taken off the hinge. The handle is held down by another hex bolt.
Now to change the handle. It looks pretty straight-forward, but I must say I’m far from convinced by the design – the loaded edge is pretty thin, no wonder it cracked! Sadly it broke into pieces, so no chance of glueing.

Hmmm.
I’ve used the machine a few times whilst we wait for the replacement handle (popping the door open form inside the casing). It worked OK for a while, now it gives an error message to the effect that the door’s not closed. I’ve checked, the latch has caught and the door seems secure, but the error message remains.
Two possibilities suggest themselves:
I took the door apart to check the latch mechanism, and refitted – could something not be lined up correctly,perhaps slipping after a few uses after rebuild of the door?I use a small screwdriver to open the latch via the top of the machine as a temporary measure, is it possible I’ve damaged the interlock or some sensors through heavy-handedness?
All ideas of what (and, ideally, how) to check would be appreciated.
(Machine is playing a few other silly tricks so may look for a replacement if this is in any way complicated)
