Our WM62 sounds like there is a coin or something trapped between the inner and outer drum.
Before I rush into stripping it down, I thought it best to ask. Has anyone come across this problem before and is there an easy way to get what ever is trapped in there out?

    Many thanks

    Rich.

Most washing machines you’d have a hunt around through the sump hose and heater first but to be honest taking off the front of the drum on a WM is so easy best just to do this.

Be careful not to damage the heater when taking it out/putting it back in. Also, in the trade we use a special adhesive to reseal the front of the drum back on – if you don’t have this be extra sure it’s not leaking. You may want to run a band of silicon sealant around the edge to be on the safe side :).

Well I think I’m up for the award for Jammiest person of the day. I took the top and door seal off and then decided to lean the washing machine forward (about 45°) and gently rotate the drum. Just to see if I could get it whatever was in there to slide forward so I could maybe see it. Hey presto out pops a nice shiny 5p!
Just got to get her-in-doors to put a load in and see if it cycles OK. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Many many thanks for the replies. Just glad I didn’t have to do a major strip down.

    Rich.
