ParticipantI have only just discovered this website. I wish I had found it beforhand. Just to say I purchased one of these machines from ARGOS. I suppose the reason for me posting is that I have had this for a couple of weeks. I bought it because it was cheap. I could find notthing on the www about them. I have since discovered that basically I have bought a HAIER machine. I am going to keep everybody updated on my experience of this washer. It might be a good basic machine. Likewise, it might me awful. I just think BUSH should be reported on. Bye just now.

Just an update on this machine. It is now 7 months old. Used 4 or 5 times a week and have had no problems with it so far.
In January, I switched it on wash and a warning light flashed to say there was a problem with the pump and it turned off. When I checked where the manual told me to look, some water had actually frozen inside the machine. It is situated in utility room with no source of heating and it was during the really cold weather.
After it had thawed, the machine ran as normal.
So far I have no complaints and at £180, it appears to be good value. Hope that helps someone considering a budget washer.

Seven months of usage and you think it’s good value? So far it’s cost you about £1.35 a wash, I hope you get a bit more out of it than that.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I did say in my first post that there is very little information available about BUSH appliances. I wanted to use this website to highlight my experience of having one. My more recent post was just an update 7 months on. I am hoping it helps others. I will update again at some point in the future. I hope I can update this thread at year 3 or even year 5 with something positive about the washer. Thant remains to be seen though! Thanks again. 🙂

on a sidenote its really interesting (and worrying) how many people get bush and bosch mixed up. the number of times you find yourself having to explain why the “bush” has only lasted 21 months, as in their eyes it “should have lasted longer, cos its a bosch” is growing increasingly common, either argos are onto a winner with their branding, retail people are telling the public porkies, or dyslexia has overcome the country…

Another update – for anyone that is interested.
My BUSH washer is now outside the guarantee period – So it’s one year old. I’ve Still had no problems with it.
Probably now used once a day on average. There is still very little information available to people about the reliability of these machines.
I have nothing critical to say about it after a year.
I will come back here at year two and let you know what the situation is, but so far, if you want a cheap washer – then BUSH at Argos seems fine.
🙂

we have a hotpoint wf250 (graded), its on *at least* 5 times a week, and now at least 6 years old. this doesnt mean its amazing, it means we have looked after it (never knowingly overfilled, hotwashed once a month as well as foot-balance checked every month). i havent had a peak at the back of the tub for bearing seal leakage, but there wasnt any there on the 5yr mark, so hoping not any now. the fact is, a machine will be as reliable as what your willing to pay for it, our wf250 perfect srp was approx £380, graded it was about £330 and its so far done a conservative 1500 washes minimum, without us even taken a screwdriver to it. which equates to beqar minimum of 22p a wash. hoping it will see out at least another year, if not more. at least if bearings, for example, give up, i at least now have the skills and confidence to replace them and eek out another year or 2 🙂

I also bought one of these BUSH machines from Argos about 15 months ago. It has performed faultlessly (approx 200 wash cycles). For a sub £200 machine it has proved to be a good buy even though the long term life is likely to be only 3 years. The BUSH was cheaper than buying a 5 year warranty for a £500 machine. In any case spending the equivalent of £60/year on a washing machine and having a new one every three years doesn’t seem such a bad deal to me, others may disagree but it’s down to individual decision making. If you want a cheap machine then this one looks OK.

A very quick update on this. It’s now two years old. Still no problems with it. I started buying a £10 Argos voucher every payday since I bought this as I was sure it would stop working fairly quickly because it was so cheap and I would need to pay for a replacement machine. I stopped buying the vouchers when I reached £200!
Still very little information available on the web about BUSH. But hope this thread in some way helps someone. 😀

judging by the wording of your posts im guessing youre either poorly educated or your not from these here parts
im kinda guessing that you actually work for haier? im going to be quite frank here, im known for it, and im sure other traders will agree
bush/haier/swan/russell hobbs/matsui/hec/whatever they think of next
are simply inferior products
the beauty of internet forums is that anyone, anywhere can post these kind of messages, theyre easy to post, and most probably, are made up to enhance the brands selling point
traders know, the fire brigade know, trading standards know
from poor, badly built motors, to naff pumps, pcbs that wont spin… wierd electrical faults and motors that spontaneously combust, the problems seem continuous
in fact the only saving grace is that when the motor sets on fire , it manages to melt the tub and it puts the fire out when it pours water out
great safetey feature i dont think
people need to get to grips with the fact that not only are they rubbish, theyre destroying our economy, taking peoples jobs and creating serious safety issuesif u really have had your machine 2 years, then good luck to you

Twenty five years my mother and I have been coming to these forums and I have never heard anything quite like it. I find you IMPERTINENT! 😆
You have the cheek to say I am poorly educated! I have never seen such a poorly worded piece before. Bad grammar, shocking punctuation and the spelling! And you bring up education!
I am not from around “these parts” if “these parts” means Preston. And if you are typical of the manners of people from Preston then thank FCUK that I am not from there.
Your “kinda guess” that I work at Haier is wrong. Where I am employed is nothing to do with you or this thread. If I worked at Haier, I would not be buying a cheap automatic washer from a catalogue showroom.
So…… To finish off, get to FCUK of my thread with all your negativity, otherwise, I will jump the first train down to Preston. Track you down, and wash your mouth out with soap powder!
COMP-RANDY?
