Diplomat ADP8132 dishwasher. (Smeg clone). Type:- 12043. Nr:- 18244 0901.

Original fault was a blown PCB (water ingress) so replaced it with a s/hand item – PCB numbers match, model no. matched.
Worked a treat for about a month and then a fault develops – the machine won’t finish a cycle. I checked everything and found that the socket the machine was plugged into was intermittent. Great; sorted the socket problem but the machine would still keep washing until you turned it off. 👿
Went back today and tested everything. Start a cycle, the machine fills, then washes for about 4 minutes: it then stops, beeps and repeats this loop again and again. Put a test meter across the heater and found that everytime the PCB switched the heater on, it stops, beeps and restarts the program. Heater tests out fine.

    I’m thinking goosed PCB……any thoughts??

    Thanks,

    Steve.

It could be anything on this model Steve, wash pump, dispenser, mains suppressor any of them with low insulation will make the PCB do all sorts of things, but from your description I would tend to agree with you on a knackered PCB.

From the serial number you give it was made in Sept 2001 so maybe a sale of new Neff or Bosch might be in order 😉

I agree these smeg boards are always doing this, I have one at QER right now doing exactly that. But it can also be an external problem & the board’s reaching the part of the cycle that switches something in & it doesn’t like what it feels from the component concerned. For instance the soap dispenser solenoid. Try putting a normal inlet valve solenoid in circuit instead & try it. This has exposed the solenoid as faulty for me in the past.
