My Hotpoint 7822 has worked perfectly all its life until this morning. It will not empty after a wash or rinse cycle. I have checked the strainer, checked the outlet hose for kinks or blockages and all seems to be ok. Programme switch seems to advance as usual but when the outlet pump should be working I cannot hear the usual noise – just an electrical “hum”. I presume the pump impeller is obstructed or the pump motor may have packed up. I notice on reading some other similar forum topics that some machines have a special access plate to gain access to check the impeller without having to take the machine out and remove side panels etc. Does the Hotpoint 7822 have such an access plate or how do I best check the impeller?
Have I overlooked anything else that may be the problem?
If I find the outlet pump motor to be faulty where is the best place to get a replacement part?
    Thanks, John

The pump can be accessed by removing the lower front plinth. Be sure to remove the mains plug and if possible pull the machine forward then lean back against a wall or kitchen units.

There is no access to the pump from inside the tub on this machine.

The pump is situated bottom right and can be removed for inspection or replacement without to much trouble.

There are two different pumps, one under £30 the other nearer £50. It may be blocked but at that age it could easily have seized. Serial number needed to identify correct pump.

If the older ( dearer ) pump is not available it is possible to fit the later pump but you would also have to change the outlet hose as well.

The later pump is in our Shop@
