    i bought this off ebay cheap, the bearings have gone.

    is it worth replacing the spider arm when i attempt the bearing replacement, or does it all depend on the condition of the spider. not disasembled it yet to inspect it. anyone done one of these machines ??

    It’s always best to replace the spider at the same time.:wink:

    Of course, it’s old, worn and possibly corroded as well, but, you decide! 8)

    i believe the old bearings can be heated up a bit to ease them out, or is it cool them down? do i start from the back bearing first then the inside one ?

    well its the first time ive attempted to change the bearings so fingers crossed 🙂

    Unless you want to melt the drum or the alloy bearing support collar then you should not go anywhere near it with heat. :rolls:

    If it is really bad then the chances are that the inner bearing will have collpased. Removing whats left of the outer bearing shell is very difficult.
