never had the pleasure of stripping one of these down yet, somehow.

cust complaint is a rubbery squeak on slowdown of drum rotation – both on spin and wash, assuming its bearing related even tho there is nothing to suggest it in terms of drum play, have already check tub friction on front gasket, and still does it without gasket fitted or even without belt on pulley (in case motor bearing failure)

so am i right in assuming rear bearing seal failure?

It will probl’y have a drum support with stainless steel or brass collar, they used to phospherbronze which didnt cause this, i usualy take the drum out and put a little grease on the collar and around the bearing seal, usualy works a treat. J

I got this once after doing a bearing job, many years ago, before anyone had told me it was necessary to grease the bearing seal.
Do these have a bearing housing drain hole, like in the old WM series? If so, it could be worth trying a good squirt of oil or “spray grease” into the hole using the long nozzle.

The very technique I have used with some success over the years. 🙂
