KeymasterI posted this on the end of an old similar thread but got no response, so hoping the more accurate subject will prompt a response.
My dishwasher is a Whirlpool ADG 7540. Towards the end of the cycle there’s a rattling noise from below, although it does seem to complete okay. At first I described it as a stutter and searching for that lead me to believe that it might have a dodgy askoll pump, but after removing the front plate and watching it in action I’m not sure.
The right-angled rubber hose and the heater are moving around quite a bit with the rattling noise. It looks to me like something is stuck in there. I’ve uploaded a video shot underneath to youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFoBlIfWpscAs per the previous post there is a fine grey oily residue on the plastic parts inside – something I hadn’t taken too much notice of.
I’m also unsure who to remove the rubber hose clips to get a look.
Found a good image of the underside parts here:

Sounds like a bit of glass or something has found its way in there. But it does also look like the Askoll pump.
The clips on those are quite special, so much so that we sell them here as getting some to fit is often a nightmare.
But to find out you’ve no option but to strip it and see what the issue is.HTH

Thanks for the response.
So the clips on it are “use once clips” and to get them off I just have to break them? And then fit new ones to when I put it back together?

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts about getting the existing “clips” off? 😕

I usually put a flat had screw driver into the join and give it a twist. either that or a pair of side cutters and grab th join and twist 😉 . Also ken the link for the clips didn’t work for me…..

Cheers, so just break them off and replace when re-fitting?

Yup, just be careful not to damage the rubber hose which it clamps and.you will be fine. Also don’t be too shocked if you don’t find anything in there as the impellours do go on these dw’s but by the look of the you tube clip it does look and sound like something is in there. Hth DJ 😀
