ParticipantHi Guys
I visited a Zanussi ZWF1237 the other day displaying E40 [door lock fault]
I have fitted a new lock which allows washing machine to now work. However the fill valves is now working constantly . I refitted the old lock to get E40 code once more but fill vale does not work as above. In case new lock had a fault i have fitted a second one, which behaves the in the same way.
Has any one any ideas ?
I have performed earth leakage tests and also disconnected every part of importance and still the same .
I have also removed and inspected board but no blast marks / dry joints .
Does any one know how to set machine into diagnostic mode ?Touch control panel with oval display, 😀 😀 not rotary selector .
Cheers

Both the door interlock and the inlet valves share the same neutral bar on the PCB. So a faulty interlock can blow the board at this point.

Hi paul
Got back to that zanussi today and did find a blown triac where you suggested.
Have sent board away for repair/test (£10} so i think it’s going to work ok.
Cheers mate for your sound advice.

Or have you found somewhere that repairs them for a tenner? 😯

Well if there was someone doing board repairs at a tenner, he wouldn’t have much time left for sleeping. 😆

❗ Hi guys
Yes it is emw but only a tenner as they do not normally repair this board.
I am getting no guarantee either, but they are also fitting new triac too .
Did not feel comfortable about removing /resoldering in a new triac .
This triac is quite small 8 legs and solders directly onto pcb tracks not through pcb.

I guess their interest is in widening their experience. Can’t be bad.

Hi
Spoke to a guy called andy and he offered me that price without me asking .April 25, 2011 at 11:55 am #349502colly
ParticipantRe: Zanussi E40 fault
Well another one bites the dust because of a circuit board!!!
Got pcb back of emw and went to refit today .
Triac replacement has now cured the valve running all the time. Yippie!!
However machine still not working still.
E42 is been displayed when in diagnostic mode so suspect further damage to pcb .
Cheers for all the help though guys

I’m not too sure about these things but it may be that you just need to “clear the last error code”, then it will all work. As I say, I have minimal experience of this but you could try a search using those words until someone confirms or denies this is the problem.
