My dishwasher, which is less than 3 years old, has abruptly stopped working. it worked perfectly a few days ago!
When I switch it on, it makes usual noise for approx 10 seconds, but water does not begin to fill, then all noise stops.
I have cleaned filter, have checked that water is on. I have removed water pipe from plubing i.e. pipe feeding from plumbing which hose is attached to – to make sure there was no blockage here.
Have also removed u-bend from sink – just in case there was some blockage there, that might somehow be causing problem! :'(

The lights flash as per usual when I cancel the wash, so no error message showing up.

Would be grateful for any advice on this – & also opinion as to whether it is worth getting an expert to come & look at this, or if I should just replace it!?
    Thank you

It sounds like the pump is blocked or faulty.

A dishwasher will always drain first, clear the sump and then fill. If either of the first two go wrong (assuming it powers up of course) then it will stall after the machine susses that it hasn’t drained or, it thinks it hasn’t.

It’s probably not going to be that expensive to sort though, that’s the good news.
