IMHO I believe Sibson serves us well as an ‘all in one’ package/venue. Stafford was fine and if we are to get a further increase in numbers attending, may well again be an optional venue. (Not sure the maximum conference capacity is at Sibson?)
For the next meeting we could have a ‘live Webcam’ UKW link direct from the meeting to the Web site, so everyone could see what a great job those ‘on the top table’ do with the meeting. (Kwatt in his best suit 😉 )
Also the pub grub and breakfast at Sibson was better by far I reckon 🙂

KeymasterIF the venue has a broadband link then it is very easy to setup an IP camera indeed as well as global net sharing using WLAN gear but it takes a bit of time to setup and make work. The IP range also has to be allowed to upload to the server, just another snag as we wouldn’t know that till connected. But it has been done in the past and certainly attendance by such a proxy means is all too possible where the connection is available but hotels in the UK seem not to have latched onto this at all. At Sibson I couldn’t even get decent GPRS cover let alone anything approaching what you’d need to technically do that.
But there again, a lot of it comes down to where we end up next time around.

Sibson with seating for 75 will do as long as no-one hears of what we have to talk about and roll out……..better look for alternatives now.

KeymasterOkay we need to get this show on the road and get a date set as I have to organise some guests that want to come to the next meeting and it looks as if it’s going to be more packed out with presentations this time around. So, if anyone has a projector & screen that would be good. If not we’ll need to look towards hiring one I guess. 😕
I am going to release more information on who’s attending with presentations in time but we need to get a date set for this ASAP.

If it is a slide projector you are looking for I have one at home, also have a screen with stand approx four feet square. Let me know and Dave can bring it with him.Regards

KeymasterNa Don, but thanks for the offer. It’s an LCD PJ that’s needed for running PC presentations.

The 25th and 26th Of February 2005 seems OK. A Friday and Saturday as per the previous meetings, Independant UKW members only on the Saturday and all are welcome on the Friday type format.
If that all seems OK, we can get this booked and arranged by those of us going to Sibson on the 27th November for the UKW Christmas social (*cough* p1ss up) evening.

I’m pretty sure I can get a digital projector and screen if you have a problem getting one. My better half works for a management training company and I am sure I could “aquire” one for the weekend

KeymasterSuperb, thanks John it is much appreciated.
Given that home cinema is a pastime of mine setting it up shouldn’t be a hassle at all. 😉

As there seems to be no problem with the date we’ll take is as confirmed 😀
Anyone like to make suggestions for invitees ?
We already have a few planned, but if there’s any suggestions, please make them known here.
Thanks.
Dave.

We should have some very interesting presentations being given that we’ve been working on, more on that as we get everything sorted out.
It should be well worthwhile attending so please let Dave, myself or our lacky, Del know of your intention to attend as places, especially for rooms, may well be limited.

Actually John I think you’re being a bit greedy. 1 room apiece would do fine.
