SE25M570.GB/17
Initally complained of it sticking in cycle, often with 1 minute left in display.
The heat exchanger/fill matrix was very badly clogged at the top left and the pressure chamber assy was totally gunged up.
I replaced both of the above and cleaned out the lower transfer hose.
Ran it on test and it appeared fine.
Customer has just rung to say it did one hot wash perfectly but has now stuck on wash overnight, possibly without water but she is not sure.
Anything else I should be looking at?

I should think that being as it was very gunged up, the turbidity sensor is also gunged up? I would therefore ask the customer to ‘reset’ the machine first then select a non-auto wash (quick Wash for example) to see if that works OK?

Is the turbidity sensor inside the heater box, 😥
Will give her a call and get her to try that out.

Customer reports back that it will complete a Quick Wash.
What is the chance of a couple of doses of high grade dishwasher cleaner sorting this out?

That should do it as long as they are not great curry eaters or pig out on lashings of tomato paste in their cooking! 🙂

Update.
Customer has been away for a few days so I have been conversing with her son, still not sure if they have put any of the cleaner I left through it yet.Message now is that it sticks on 30 minutes, is making a noise but not advancing.
Does that still point ot a turbidity problem?

:hmm: Tricky one Jim, short answer is that it could be if we’re talking of programmes dependant on the sensor. Quickwash doesn’t use it as you know so that tells us that it’s overall function is pretty good.
The only other potential cautions I can think of are:
Low pressure water inlet probs?
Drain time-out?

That is a possible, you can’t hear the water gushing in, would that only affect the rinses and stick at 30 mins though.
New pressure chamber fitted 😉 and drain appears OK.

Still having problems with this thing. 😥
Water pressure was if anything to high, turned it down and cleaned aquastop filters.
I have had two or three leaks from the new heat exchanger, despite replacing all of the ‘O’ rings for the new ones in the kit it has leaked from a couple of them.I have resorted to silicone sealant today and will see how that goes.
it is doing a couple of washes on the main cycles now before the slight leaks cause problems so it looks as though the turbidity sensor is OK. 🙂
One thing I did notice, just after the machine had filled and started to wash a tiny amount of water ‘spluttered’ out of the small vent at the top. centre of the heat exchanger for a couple of seconds, whats that all about. 😕

Back from my brief soujorn, would still like to know if anyone has any idea why a small amount of water spurts out of the vent at the top of the heat exchanger????

I know I’m probably teaching my grandaddy how to suck eggs but you mentioned on one on your earlier posts that you had trouble with the “o” rings not sealing. A good trick I use is put vaseline round them before I put it back (the same when changing heater boxes) it works s treat! Also what do you mean heat exchange?… the heater?

On the subject of O rings you haven’t put one on the water outlet into the pressure chamber by any chance? I wouldn’t have though you would but worth asking anyway. 😉
How quickly does the circulating pump fire up on filling? Or, to put it another way, how much water has drained from the heat exchanged immediately prior to the motor busrting into life?

No to the ‘O’ ring question, although the new heat exchanger/fill matrix did come with four new ‘O’ rings and the fitting diagram actually shows an ‘O’ ring fitted in the position you describe even though the hole into the pressure chamber is to small for one to fit there. 😕
It does appear to leak a little from this area as well as the small amount that spurts from the top vent.
Need to check on your second question. 😉
