    I’ve got a customer with a broken door handle (WAS24466GB/03) and it appears that recently the seperate parts of the door are not all available or at least, not listed. Only a complete door assy (704286) including hinge is available for the foreseeable future. They have since stopped supplying the inner door trim, the outer door trim AND the handle as a seperate spare part. You can however still get the door hinge, door glass and door lock stiker as separate items.

    I spoke tho Rachel today at BSH and she says that this is a very recent devolopement and that they have “spoken to Germany about it” but alas they no longer have access on their systems in Milton Keynes to access the individual part numbers and could be months before they respond as many customers have already complained.

    Now I know for a certain fact that the part no’s for the inner and outer door trims are as follows AND are currently available and in stock at BSH, namely 668240 & 660716.

    My question to any nice, kind, considerate BSH friend/colleague is this….Please can you give me the part number of the door handle? I’m bl** dy certain sure they are out there and available to order, if only you could whisper to me the part number……. 🙂 🙂 😉

    in much the same boat here as well, this one is a fancy looking Siemens version, model WM16S494gb16 only shown as complete door, part number 704288 on BSH site. Can Don, or anyone else conjure up a part number for a handle for this one? Do I really have to charge a customer £91 + my charge, for a door handle repair?

    Hi Mark

    Found two part numbers which you may wish to check with BSH before ordering to make sure you get the right one. Trouble is I don’t have a picture of them to be able to compare with the original on the Siemens E shop.

    644575 classed as handle with a cost of around £18 or 646788 recessed handle at around £40.

    The first number Don (644575) is probably the silver (aluminium) one, the second number you gave comes up as a dispenser handle. Mark’s machine , as you know anyway, is chrome. He might get a way with that silver handle but chrome would be better. I don’t know how you come up with these numbers but you’re on the right track anyway…carry on looking for us please!. 😀

    thanks so much Don, it is infact a matt silver rather than Chrome so it may be correct, only issue is that BSH only have it available to order. Machine is in a cupboard so customer is not bothered about finish especially when I tell her the cost of the complete door.

    photo of that one on Qualtex site does not look anywhere near big enough…..is it just the photo or maybe it is way smaller.

    Well, at its widest point it measures 23 cms across. If that helps? 🙂

    well, it doesnt fit Martin, although it may fit in the door, the actuator of the door lock is in a completely different place. Lets hope they are going to be regular breakers though as now I have 2 in stock and a customer on the warpath to BSH!

    Yeah you’re right Mark, I’ve just printed off the Bosch schematic and the Siemens and comparing the two they are quite different.

    Let’s hope Don can have another go at getting the spare part number for us? 😛
