Hey guys, I’m Glenn from australia, nice to meet ya =)
Somebody on another forum recommended I try asking here..

I have a Fisher and Paykel “intuitive eco” washing machine model IW810AU , and when switch is off, (power point on) drain pump is buzzing. It measures 36 Ohms and works on the bench when removed.
It doesn’t work on diagnostic mode using the fabric care button and no fault code comes up.

Any ideas apart from replacing the motor controller?
    Regards
    Glenn

So the machine can’t operate it?
And you can turn on the machine and will fill, wash, etc?
    Just won’t drain?
If that is the case the triac in the motor controller has failed. or the control circuit for the triac has.

    Hi there,
Yes it does fill and wash, but not drain. During this drain motor continues to buzz. Occasionally the machine will cut out completely and needs a minute or two to reset.
Foud my house voltage to be 253v but when I connect it to my generator (241v) it works fine.

    Hi again,
It is a teaser. I live 16KM out of town, sort of semi rural. Neighbour has the same voltage @ 253 V.

well the voltage is within limits.
But the motor should still run.
The only thing apart from the machine having a quirky fault is the supply for the house been bad like a bad neutral.

    Hi there,
Dropped the voltage to 249 by plugging in a 800 watt heater and machine worked perfectly. Have to ring my supplier to find out why it is high. Thanks for your help.
    Regards
    Glenn

Re the Voltage.. proberbly just means low demand on the supply

There maybe a bad neutral on the transformer feeding your house.
Or the power in your area may need conditioning.

Agreed. Also bad neutral can cause it too. A few years ago in a rural area a lug for the neutral burned right off two houses ended up with 500volts coming in 😯
