hi everyone does anyone know a way to test the reed switch on the water inlet pcb other than replacing it,or is there a way of by passing it to test if it is at fault.the inlet/drain light flashes as soon as the machine takes in water but it carries on filling and then nothing.any help much appreciated.

you cant bypass it because it needs to pulse to send a signal to the pcb
you can test reed switches with a multimeter and a magnet

only way you could bypass it is to solder 2 wires to a push switch and when machine start you push the switch on and off fast as you can, but reed has got to have failed o/c for this to work without removing it

    depends where the magnet stops

reed switches are activated by magnets so if the magnet stops next to it then switch will be closed

doesnt seem to be a magnet anywhere near.the switch is on a small pcb which slots into compartment on the water matrix.

the magnet will be on the wheel inside the air break.
