Moderatorgot an 1607w with the rubber sealing lip around the outside of the door openning come off. Cannot for the life of me see how it fits back so have ordered a new one. Looks like its a front and door off job to fit and its tight!
Anyone had the same?July 23, 2011 at 7:48 pm #356074kwatt

Hi Mark
Thought the same a few months ago when presented with the same.
Customer had a leak on the door seal and showed me where the leak was coming from and just ripped the rubber lip off the machine,I thought jeez whats he doing but got it back on with no probs at all and iirc went on the opposite to what you think it may go back on!!
Front stays on the machine but i removed the door assy.Dave

Just curious, 🙂 are we talking about the black rubber seal attached to the door or the larger, grey one around the door surround. 😕

Thats what puzzled me, you mentioned a leak but that seal is not a water seal. 😀
Jim.

confused dot com here as well. Yes Jim, I am taking about the white/grey rubber that just seals the gap between cabinet and drum, not a water seal there at all.
I tried to stretch it back on, (with the front in situ) but couldnt, possible could with front removed but then wondered why it came off in the first place so ordered a new one just to be sure, will return next week to fit. (tumble drier on top and Cambridge city centre, jeez!)July 27, 2011 at 7:59 am #356080kladave

Bloody hell Mark i thought you were the dogs when it came to Asko stuff.Perceverance is all that is needed to refit and from memory you don’t need to stretch it on!!

😆 1607’s are as new to me as they are to everyone else and the old asko had simple straight peices that never fell off.
As I said, the rubber is way smaller that the bit it fits on so it HAS to be strecthed on, hasnt it? and why did it come off in the first place? What with the drier on top I thought better to wait for new part before getting too involved. Will update you and you still have not explained how it would cause a leak!

At what point in any of my posts have i said it was this seal that has leaked??
I forgot to say,the one i refitted also had a dryer on top, which stayed there and perhaps i will make this clear as well …..the front of the machine was NOT removed either.July 27, 2011 at 8:53 pm #356083iadom

OK I admit, got it wrong, 😳 trying to fit it on the drum front plate instead of the cabinet front. went back today, with a new one and slipped it on as easy as anything. In my defence, on all the previous asko’s and ISE 10’s it does fit onto the drum front plate.
thanks Dave!August 31, 2011 at 6:45 pm #356086Alanj

Hi Guys, I have one of these to do. I tried for ages to get the old seal to go back on but every time I got to the last 3 or 4 inches of getting seal on , it came off further round. There is not much of a lip on the seal anyway.Did you start at the top or bottom of the door opening? 😕
