This machine requires a set of carbon brushes, having looked around I could not see these listed not even on the Hotpoint site.

Spoke to Hotpoint and told its a motor that is supplied carbons not available for this model. Yes I have tried to adapt from what I have in stock but no joy. Anyone come across this or have a cunning plan.

    thanks silverbroom

as you say cant see them listed on connect or qualtex

would have to see a better picture of the holder to see what might fit

can you not find another set and transplant the carbon core

if it is a sole motor then the car99 should fit or hotpoint number C00114885 equivalent

Just for future ref,if you come across the above machine needing carbons then it is a complete motor job. I carry a good selection of carbons but no joy in swapping outer, inner casings. Thanks for the above advice which I checked out but no joy.

Up date on this post. Discovered a pair Connect part No CBN9213 fit. Big saving on a new motor.

These are listed as CESET carbons so will not fit the FHP/AEG type motor unless you do a fair bit of fettling.

Was your motor a CESET silverbroom?

    Jim.
