Participantbeen out to a hoover h160e – 80
wasnt draining or pumping, so first stop filter and carbons, filter clean, brushes worn low so replaced carbons and tested. still no drain but had spin.
so put a connect askoll pump on as old plaset type was dead and bulging – overheated. still no drain so found main pcb (side mount) and one of the legs of the triac on TR5 is burned right out.
spec on triac was:
MAC
97A8 or 97AB
243anyways, not big into module component replacement but took out a scrappy bearing failed 7.5k nextra last week, so harvested its pcb before ditching and its got same size triacs, but with different codings. anyhoo, soldered out the triac in the same TR5 position, and its got this on it:
(logo – st?)
ZUG07 / ZU607 / Z0G07 / Z0607
MA
75 521What i wanna know is it gonna be compatible? according to connect both machines can use same pattern pump…
anyone (mike?) help me out here ?October 4, 2011 at 7:42 am #360471Allsorts

have found a/s! cheers. have also since spotted a wil133 test module with “mac-type” triacs attatched. gonna heat one of those out and try it. if the hoover completes 3x test runs ok ill get a replacement “mac triac” off you to put back on my test wil133 pcb 😛
cheers dude!

Before you try it.. download the datasheet for the triac mac97a8 you have and the one you are going to try replace it with so that you can see the operation of each… These mac triacs are Logic level Sensitive Gate triacs. I wouldn’t want you to trial the wrong chip and destroy your board.

ah hah, the 133 triacs are mac97a8 too, but they have a different 3 digit number under it – 537 or something iirc, is that just the batch code?

My God, things must be tough going up there, wherever you guys are!
MAC97 Qty 1 @ 46p + vat including g’teed next day delivery. OK you need to open an account. It takes a few minutes and maybe you have to give them your card details. They never hassle you for more business by phone – I spend about £30 a year and all I get is an occasional email which I just delete like the Tesco ones. How can you run a shop and still have time to desolder 50p components?

Not time to look into it just now but I cannot believe that the difference between two components, both labelled MAC97A8, would be at all significant at the level we’re talking about. If it was, there would be boards blowing up all over the plan….
mmmmmmm………Hang on a minute, maybe you’ve hit on something…. 😆
