    Re: CHECK AOL NEWS

A very sad story and an unfortunate surname.. 🙁

However this machine is supposed to be a Creda 800, the only way that the machine would run with the door open is if someone has bodged or bypassed the door interlock. It is a rented machine and if it is a Creda 800 will be a few years old. :rolls:

    TODDLER ARM

i hear on the news this morning that a toddler has lost an arm in a washing machine
after reading to find out what the affected model was i could only find
    creda 800
the only creda 800 rpm machines i can think of are the supaspeed variety and i think they had the pecker on them
over the years i have seen many times that this pecker has been bypassed and every time i see one i will not work on the machine unless i can fix that too although it has been a few years since i last saw one
to all those engineers that have done this over the years and people in house trying to save a few quid this is the exact reason they have these devices fitted in the first place you have no idea whose home that machine may go to even if you dont have kids the scrap man may sell it on or if you leave it in the house
what makes this bad is it sounds like the machine was rented so whoeer rented this is going to be asked some questions

    TODDLER ARM

Your’ll find that the picture is a generic library one and not the actual machine.

Topics merged together and name changed.

    Re: CHECK AOL NEWS

That picture in the AOL link may not be the actual machine, I dare say that machine is now in the hands of the relevant inspectorate.

If you follow the external links on that page several other news web sites state it is a Creda Simplicity 800.

There are several Creda 800 models with the later 1602390 door interlock fitted.

Re: CHILD LOSES ARM IN W/M ACCIDENT

on a semi related matter i came across a haier branded machine a few months ago customer bought a recon hotpoint from me i took away the haier when i cam to look at it i plugged it in and as soon as i turned on the power the machine went straight up to spin at what seemed like over top revs this was despite the door being wide open and did not matter what cycle was on
i checked the door lock no one had touched it this machine once powered just span and stayed there
i put it down as a board fault has anyone else come across a similar fault as i thought the machine could not even power the motor without the door being activated this seems to be some kind of design flaw in the module
