    I have a Hoover Dishwasher model HFI 3015 – 80
All programme lights are working as normal, but when the door is closed nothing happens and the dishwasher fails to work.
    Any help appreciated.

    Hi,

First thing it will do is try to drain but there’s a basic dishwasher fault finding guide here:

    Hi,
Did you manage to resolve the problem you had with your Hoover HFI3015 dishwasher?
(I’m getting the same symptoms on mine)
    Any suggestions gratefully received,
    Cheers,
    Mick

In the end I took out insurance and made a claim. They sent a repair guy and at first he could not find the fault. He then replaced the circuit board and when that didn’t work, he discovered a broken wire in amongst the loom that runs out from the base of the door. Apparently its a common problem as over time with the action of opening and closing the door, it causes the wires to fracture. It could have been worse as there was no covering protecting the loom, so if it touched the metal door, it could have caused an electric shock. So maybe you have a broken wire in the loom.

As long as the mains plug and the house wiring are in good order then it would not have caused an ‘electric shock’, it would either tripped the circuit breaker or blown the fuse in the plug.

Thanks iadom, that’s comforting to know. The repair guy said the loom should have been inside a plastic sleeve, but they don’t always fit them, so he wrapped it in insulation tape. That was a year ago and its worked fine ever since.
