have a look for broken wires in door, take of door skin there is a thin bar running across inner door, behind that you will find 1 or more broken wires, could possibly have caused board fault but might just be wires.

hi mate didnt think the new type dw get broken wires these days as the wires dont usualy go were the door goes up and down ust to be very common on older models?

This is an Indesit machine we are talking about, as Kev says, some of the wires in the door harness are very thin and break off under the rod going across the centre of the door.

There isn’t a standard dishwasher on the market were the wires don’t go up and down at some point. It would be very common on these but not many of them get to be ‘older models’ :rolls:

    Re: hotpoint dw model lft114

Did one yesterday, there are only a few wires in the door harness, a couple of normal thickness ones and six or seven of the feeble thin ones.

On this one both of the thick wires had snapped at the bottom. :rolls:

Sadly these are ineshit, been to loads of ” new” dw under warranty needing wiring repaired.

This is very common and will no doubt get worse as they get older..

On the flip side its a nice eay job for us. 🙂

Most common complaint is ” not starting or dead” usually 1 or both of door lock wires snapped.

ive had this as well. unfortunately after spending ages soldering and heatshrinking a repair to about four wires i discovered that they must have shorted and blown the board.therefore id quickly splice and test then solder if ok.

    Re: hotpoint dw model lft114

That still sounds like a harness fault, you need to remove all of the black tape covering the harness where it bends at the bottom, had several now with breaks there.

Cover prises off, with care of course. 😉
