ParticipantHi,
Have been battling with a Samsung RS21FGRS for several weeks! Initially fridge iced up and defrost heater o/c. Fitted heater and sensors supplied with it but not the gas pipes. Left fot customer advising OK now. However didn’t cool and found fan not working. Light switch seems OK and fan motor OK as works in cooling fan connection, so ordered board. Fitted board and ran for about 30 mins and fan seemed to operate after switching light switch. Advised customer OK. Still not cool enough and my lad checked again and fan only seems to run occasionally. We fitted a fridge sensor but not sure if the right one as Connect part came up as SAMDA3210105G but description on the packet was icemaker sensor! Is it the same or is that the wrong one and probable fault. It has a much longer lead than the original. Not positive that it is the sensor. Freezer fine.
ANY ideas or info gratefully recieved. I do not have diagnostics for this.
Cheers,

Hi
The correct defrost sensor ends with 13h or maybe even k now. I have you changed the evap cover?.
I’ve also found bad connections on the multiplug at the pcb due to corrosion.

Thanks for the reply Bryan.
It has a new defrost sensor supplied with the heater. It is the fridge sensor by the light that I was not sure about. The plugs on the board look good. How would the evaporator cover affect the fan operation?

Came across this twice myself, it’s the fan motor. It usually runs for 5 min then cuts out.
It doesn’t pick it up on start up diagnostics, but if you run diagnostic mode it will probably come up with the LED for fan fault.November 24, 2011 at 4:09 pm #363657delahart

Hi all,
Thanks for advice.
Have changed fan motor and cover as an assembly and so far seems to be OK!
Will post again if problem persists.
