Hi, the spindle on my tumble dryer had worn right away so we fitted a new drum spindle with a kit purchased online. It all seemed to be a straight forward process but when we plugged it in to test it, the drum isn’t spinning freely and there’s a burning smell! Needless to say I have unplugged it and need to investigate but does anyone have any ideas what I might have done wrong when I put it back together?
Thanks
You will need to check (with the belt off the motor) that the drum is sat correctly on the front nylon support bearings. And also that the drum is not rubbing against the back panel? The burning smell either the belt burnt up or worse still the motor windings shot!
