ParticipantHi, Fridge freezer has packed in on me. The unit has power, fridge light is on, the temperature indicator is on but it’s not cooling or freezing. when power is switched I can hear the ‘clicks’ but the unit is then silent. Could it be the compressor, or something else perhaps? Compressor type is ZBS1115CY. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi
Does it run at all if left switched on ? or if you turn it off for 30 mins when you turn it back on how long is it before you hear the clicks and where from ?

No not at all, I will unplug it now and try in 30 minutes or so. The clicks are from the top, where the lights are, it’s that sort of ‘normal’ tick sound happens about 2 seconds after powering up, then a louder click sound. I’m guessing these are normal.

OK, Plugged back in… The first ‘tick’ about 2 seconds, the ‘click’ about 6 seconds.

Just turned it off / on, I put my ear against the unit – after the click I can hear something, It sounds like it is working then about 45 seconds later the click occurs again and the unit is silent.

I take it that none of the lights on the top are flashing ?.
If that is the case then I would if your competent to do so check for power at the compressor..

No flashing lights. Can’t detect any voltage @ compressor, I got a 16v reading from the transformer that feeds the pcb. There is also a capacitor, from which I also couldn’t detect voltage.

Has it totally defrosted ?. If so then start looking at the pcb.
