The indications are that you need a door interlock… However, it is a trait of this version of machine that when the door interlock defaults it damages the control board… Advise would be to have the control board checked before buying parts.

Are you actually a bona fide trader washman3 ?
If so then you really should apply for trade access, if not then you seem to be going through washing machines at an alarming rate. 😉

Had actually checked the PCB in the meantime and found a burnt track corresponding with door interlock. i’m actually a dab hand at solder repair. damage is extremely slight. would repairing and fitting a new door interlock be recommended. Though machine is old in years its actually in mint condition and would be a shame to scrap. many thanks for your help.!
P.S. would it be possible to PM you IADIOM re Trade Forums. i have read and understand the terms required.

If you are really lucky it may just have damaged the tracks but in most cases some component damage will have occurred, usually one of the very small triacs will have a tiny piece missing under very close inspection.
If the rest of the machine is sound then send the PCB off to EMW if you can’t sort it, much cheaper than buying new and comes back to you with a longer warranty than a new one anyway.
For trade access you need to follow THIS link then apply direct to admin@ukwhitegoods.co.uk 😉
