KeymasterFor some people these pages are getting into the top five results on Google:
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/abou … neers.html
I’m sure I posted up about this before somewhere but, as usual, you lot are desperately lazy and seemingly unwilling to help yourselves. 😉
Let me put it this way, on one brand alone our charge work has increased by about 300{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} in the past six months due to that page. That links to our own pages as well for NWAR and feeds more referrals.
If you want to beat the big boys you will have to put in a little effort other than at whining about how they’re beating you. They’re only beating everyone because nobody is bothering to do anything about it and, if you let it happen.
Can you tell it annoys me that people don’t take up stuff for free that will help them? All it’ll cost you is a few minutes, might get you a load of calls. 😉

Good to see the number of hits Im getting.
On a side note, I have ticked I only do washing machines, dishwashers & dryers but for some reason it still lists I do cookers, fridges etc. How do I sort it? Ta. Happy New Year by the way.January 1, 2012 at 5:20 pm #366340kwatt

Generic bit of code Tim, sometimes I don’t spot these things amongst all the stuff.
But sorted now for you.
What I will say though is, the more info you put there, so long as it’s short, punchy and relevant, the more hits it will get. It also means I can target better.

No problem.
I did post it before somewhere but I could’t find the original post, sorry.
Basically what I need is the sort of infer that’s seen on the NWAR listing. What you do, where you do it and so on along with a bit of blurb, the sort of message you want to get across. A company logo or a photo of some sort is a worthwhile addition, but only one or two images.
I also need to know one (preferable) or two brands or appliance types that you specifically want to target. It is nigh on impossible to target a huge number of terms but that doesn’t mean that you should list the main brands you do, just pick a couple to major on. Any more than about six and you can consider the plot lost.
A link to your own website is also a good idea as the page authority is then passed to your own site as well boosting it too.
Think carefully about the blurb though, it has to be short, punchy but get the major points over.
Then if I go change stuff it’s for SEO purposes. After all, that’s kinda the point. 😉

Don’t forget the ability to do this as well as the Google Places thing!
For Google Places see Ally’s post here:
whitegoods-trade-association/google-places-maps-t70816.html
For the engineer pages, have a look here:
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/abou … neers.html
Suss what you want and email me it across then I’ll edit it etc and provide the back links to your own website.
All this stuff, including sharing these pages through social media WILL boost your ranking meaning that you can compete online with the big boys.
But, you need to put in a bit of effort I’m afraid.

hi k , thanks for putting me on i was thinking that anyone who doesnt have a web page could use the approved engineer page as basically their web page – then they they can link it from their google places , as google places let you put a web link in – so if you dont have your own site put in your approved repairer page ,
that way ukw getting back links from google

What page?
If it’s on the page on UKW then no. It conflicts with the other links and they go off in a huff.
