    Help!
I’ve established I need part no 818730401, but can’t work out how to safely lift the hob to access the thermostat. Also on a related issue I can’t establish the part number for the top oven thermostat. They appear different.
Any help much appreciated – before my wife explodes please 😕
    thanks

    Re: Smeg SUK62MFX5 thermostat

If someone prods me tomorrow whilst sitting in front of all the tech info I have between 9am and 5pm, I’ll look up the top oven thermostat for you. Smeg you need to get it absolutely right or it’s often completely wrong.

Often they will be different, can be different temperature ratings, offsets etc.

As to getting into it, hob stripped back usually, off, then you get to the control panel, strip that down… not an easy two minute job it has to be said.

Hope this counts as a prod! Thanks
Looked again and just can’t see a simple way to lift the hob off. the solid pipe gas supply appears connected to a back plate on the front panel and I can’t see how to ease it off without breaking the connections at the front panel. I must be missing something!!

Nobody there! But ploughed on anyway. Awkward to get the hob off and fiddlier still to put it back on! Heartbreaking moment when it didn’t work, then I remembered to set the clock – without which it won’t work. Happy Days. My wife’s baking again 🙂
