    Hi,

Has anyone else had a problem with this oven? Diplomat Select 620 Single Electric Oven.

I was grilling at temperature: 200 degrees last night and after about 30 minutes the temperature glass door inside the oven shattered from the heat. I thought ovens supposed to withstand heat??? The outside part of the glass door is fine.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Were you grilling with the door open or closed ?

Most ovens are only designed for one or the other (refer to user manual). If this model is not designed for grilling with the door closed and you were that will more than likely be the reason.

Sometimes this just “happens” though, for no apparent reason.

If you can find the full model number around the door, AHY??? APL??? I can price the replacement glass for you.

I have deleted your duplicate post by the way.

    Dave.

    Hi Dave,

I was grilling with the door closed. Darn it, I wish they’d tell us these things before we use them. (Admittedly I don’t cook that much) 😳
It’s only 10 months old too!

Ok thanks for that, I’ll have a look at the full model number tonight and get back to you tomorrow?

Do you know roughly thereabouts how much a standard inside panel costs?

Thanks very much for your help on this. 🙂

    Sri.

I would check the user manaul, on some models you can grill with the door closed, in which case as it’s only 10 months old it will be replaced free of charge by MFI for you.

If that’s not the case you may well have to buy the glass, without the model number I can only guess as they vary hugely, anywhere between £25 and £50 (ish)

    Dave.
