    This is the original ISE washing machine and is now out of guarantee. As per title the machine goes into PAUSE every time we use it (standard 40 degree, quick wash). Pressing the Start button always kicks it off again. Typically it fills for a split second before carrying on to completion. This happens about half way through the wash. I did by mistake do a non quick wash over the weekend and this didn’t pause, but my other half thinks she has had problems with this wash too. Just wondering if any one has any ideas?

    Model number is CI 555 WH

    The problem seems to be consistent on the “quick” 40 degree cotton wash

    Fills/heats/washes (about 45 mins?)
    Fills and then stops

    Press start (sometimes there is a tiny extra fill, less than a second) and then it carries on. I dont believe it has heated the water on the second fill.

    IS there a weight sensor? I guess the washing weighs a lot more on the second fill?

    Yes I think that it may be that the heating element no longer works. 🙁

    The machine does wash OK, the heater does work, I just think it hadn’t heated up at the point the machine stopped?

    You really need to run the diagnostics, or get your local ISE agent to do so. It only heats on the first fill, it does not heat on the subsequent, cold rinses.

    But your machine is a Hotpoint and not an ISE therefore bears no similarity. 😐
