ParticipantM/c stops on wash cycle and then dial stats to click around. i noticed that the fabric conditioner is still in tray.i have reset the reset programme and then put m/c onto spin cycle this results in a a gurgling sound which echos via sink plughole and the m/c makes a buzzing sound. after 4 or 5 mins the m/c stats to spin. for the last few weeks a small amount of foul smelling water has coming up into kitchen sink.

The drain coupling under your sink is blocked!

thanks martin drain coupling under sink was blocked but still have previous problem. ie m/c still stops on wash cyle then dial clicks around. after resetting dial programme to spin and removing washing later on there is a small amount of smelly water left in m/c which i have had to remove via valve/plug at front of m/c.

Soapy water gets smelly very quickly (within a few short hours) so I wouldn’t read much into that. I’m assuming now you’ve cleared the blockage and the machine drains out OK or is the dial clicking round preventing that from happening?
Next question: When the dial clicks around, count the number of flashes the red light shows. (a series of rapid flashes followed by a seconds pause before repeating the number over and over whilst the dial is moving)…?

monday evening m/c worked fine? no’3 progamme staight through to spin etc = great no dial clicking. water still came up into sink. today wednesday opened m/c door to find 2″ of dirty water in drum. put m/c onto spin and drained water away – still part of the water came up into sink. all pipes are cleaned/ un blocked as is pipe coming from pump to u bend under sink.

It’s obvious from that statement that your sink drain (going outside) needs clearing then. I bet there’s years of fat deposits, tea leaves and any amount of gunge blocking those old pipes!

Water into sink only means one thing. Your plumbing is restricted/blocked.
