ParticipantOn many different BSH branded models of both dishwasher and washing machine the programme appears to complete all but the last 1 minute shown on the time counter. And, without exception, relates directly to a ‘time-out’ error (of some sort) that the programme module has detected at some point during the cycle. The programmes microprocessor circuitry somewhat basic in not specifying an error code but instead just displays the number 1 (-1) or (01) in the window.
In the case of a dishwasher it could mean one or more of the following problems have occurred: –
Fill time-out
Drain time-out
Blockage in water fill system
Not heating
Anti-flood switch tripped
Turbidity sensor (if fitted) faultFor washing machines and some washer dryers then almost always it refers to an earth leakage problem associated directly to the motor. So an insulation tester is vital in identifying any failing there. Likewise the heater needs checking.
In some (isolated) cases a motor fault can damage the fuzzy logic circuit within the control module (PCB) though. And only after you have successfully repaired the motor fault does that issue become apparent and replacing the PCB the only cure.
Open circuit heater – Usually completes cycle OK but your customer will very often tell you it took far longer than normal to finish.

So on a dishwasher, that basically is designed to fill, wash, heat and drain and receives an 1 in the display it could be that it does not fill, wash, heat or drain, oh and possibly leaked.
Usefull. Thanks:lol:

Hi I have a bosch washer dryer in with the same error display – washer heater element seems ok as does the dryer element!
I have tried to cancel the error code by disconnecting the motor and then pressing one of the other buttons as i rotate through the programmes but won’t do it – any ideas on how to cancel it?If it’s not the heater element is it likely to be a motor fault ?

The thread is meant to be informative ONLY. Any problems with these symptoms should be posted individually in Trade Tech. In this case I suggest you ask the question again and perhaps far far better to specify what the model number (ENr) number is as well? 😉March 22, 2014 at 2:28 am #376167senseib

I have had a number of Bosch WFO type (with the small RED time remainder screen) finish with 1 min in display, this was caused by intermittent heating. The fault has been with the NTC. I have done around 20 now. Keep an eye out!! 😀
