ParticipantHi,
Because the main oven wouldn’t heat up I replaced the heating element, but even with the new element it still doesn’t heat up.My first reaction is to replace the selector switch, but before I do that
A)I’d like to know if there’s anything else I should check first?
B)It doesn’t look like an easy job, has anyone got any info on how to access it?Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
Cheers

Thermostat?
A model number might help though as there’s more than a few in that range.

Does the main oven fan run, did you test the old element before you changed it?
As mentioned above, model number is an absolute must.

Thanks for the rapid response guys.
The model No. is: 48337
Serial No. 95100056Main oven fan runs ok but no heat. Also the red light does not come on at the selector switch.
If its the thermostat where is it located?

So, did you actually test the old element first before you changed it?
The thermostat is behind the oven control knob.
Not a simple DIY job and as it is around £60.00 I would suggest that if you don’t have the means to properly test electrical components then get someone who does to have a look at it first.
It’s both sides off, complete hob lift, plus quite a bit of other work involved.

Thanks iadom,
As its done a fair bit of work I assumed that it was the element, I’ve had that on other ovens before. At least I’ve got a spare element should it fail.
Thanks for your help.
Cheers

Its wise never to assume anything, proper testing with the correct equipment is the only way to avoid expensive mistakes. 😉
