ParticipantIm currently working on a Zanussi Washer Dryer (zwd16270W1)
When I select a 40deg program with ‘super quick’ selected the machine heated right the way through the program!
Im thinking the main control board but any ideas would be appreciated!
Cheers…

Hi martin.. I meggered the heater.. All the readings were correct & the heater is not down to earth..
Can you think of anything else or would you suggest this is a card fault? Just to remind you.. The machine continued heating to boiling from the start to the finish of a 40deg program..

Does it overheat on all programs? I fit does then it suggests to me that the relay on the board has welded in the on position – give it a few sharp smacks with a screwdriver and it should release but will still need replacing.

I agree with above but looking at wiring diagram it shows the heater is fed via the dryer relay board and not the main board

Cheers Colin & Jem.. Looks like the heater is fed off a small board with 4 relays on it (behind the main board).. Its a shame to give up with it as it is ‘as new’.. Will have a go with your suggestions & if they dont work it may be off to the scrappers as its driving me mad!
Thanks.. Jon

Just to add.. Ive just tried this machine on another 40deg wash with super quick selected & the dryer fan started running during the last 15 minutes of washing cycle for about 3 minutes..
