I had a Bosch engineer out to my washing machine today (hello if you’re on here) because my washing machine has been producing a strong smell which is kind of plastic / chemical / rubber – hard to describe but really strong & makes me light-headed.
The engineer couldn’t find anything on the electrical tests etc but did find that the motor resistance was too low so a new motor was needed.
As soon as the engineer had left, I ran the 60 degree ECO cottons wash & the smell was worse than ever, really strong, thought I was going to pass out from it :eeek:
It’s not a dirty washing machine smell – I regularly run a maintainence wash.
Can anybody please shed any light on what is causing this? I am not keen to just call out the engineer again straight away as my insurance (D&G) won’t pay for the visit if the engineer doesn’t find anything – if I have an idea of what it could be then at least I could know what to talk tot he engineer about.
Thank you
