Hello 1st post on the forum! 😀

Was after some advice regarding the washing machine above, for ages now it ends the cycle with “F06” error.

Ive found on here it means?

Water heating error detected – Failed to heat for 15 minutes
Check wiring to wash heater and thermostats
    Check wash heater for continuity
    Check NTC (temperature sensor) probe

Ive measured the element at 30 odd ohms this seems high to me?

Also during the cycle it makes an unusual noise, i dont think its the motor. its like a “groaning” (like something is being impeded!) and i think its happening on draining. ive removed the drain motor and its free (connected it up to an external power source and it operates fine.

Is there a solenoid valve or something that feeds the water to the motor?

Your help would be much appreciated

    Cheers Will

If you’ve got continuity on the element it should be okay but, check the thermostats or thermistor as well.

As to the noise, could be anything you’d need to try to narrow it down a bit.

    Thanks for the reply

I think i may have cracked the heater fault, i noticed there was power to the temp switch but not after it. When i removed it there was a little ‘switch’ holding the contacts open. ive reset it and now have mains on the element and a hot glass on the drum door 😀

as for the groaning i noticed there were signs of sand around the drain motor assembly.

Maybe sand has got in there an intermittently causing this noise, it does seem to happen sometimes during draining.

    Thanks Will

Yup, sand in the drain pump will do that if it gets in between the magnet and casing.

    Your bob on K.

the F06 has gone, but still the horrible noise.

Whilst it was happening i dropped the neutral off to the motor and it instantly stopped.

Thanks for you input, smashing forum btw, i’ll be sure to keep dropping by in the future

    Will
