ParticipantHi. Going to this thursday. Pump switches on and off together with on/off light for a while before starting and going right through programme. Toni posted same fault a couple of months back, got no reply. I’ve got fault code details to take with me, wondered if anyone knew what fault is if come across before? Cheers.

its got all the hallmarks of a programmer power supply issue
check pcb to see if power supply is series capacitor or switch mode

I have this dishwasher doing the pulsing drain with the program light flashing with start button. Did anyone manage to resolve it?
The pcb looks clean, no blown capacitiors. The switch mode – is that the button and knob on the facia?

if it is a capacitor power supply it does not look blown
switch mode is a type of power supply used to power the pcb,s in machines
if you post a picture of the component side of the board will try to help

change large blue capacitor 1.5uF 275 volt ac
that provides power to the pcb.

Dave is right.. it is:
X2 MKP 1.5uF 275v AC
Measure the capacitor between the legs.. you’ll need to let the seller know this size

Thanks for the head up. I have been to RS to see if they have any, seems to be out of stock and a special order is on its way to me on Monday. Matt

I have the parts now. Trouble is, is there a correct way to put in? Generally I follow the directions of the writing and match against the new one but the new one has the print on the opposite side to the original. I’m concerned that I could put it the wrong way round.
I can’t find any references on google on the correct polarity since there’s no markings for it.

It doesn’t matter on the polarity on these capacitors.

capacitors that work on dc most of the time have a polarity but capacitors that work on ac dont as the voltage goes + and –
