Quite possibly the motor brushes are worn, check these are ok..if not replace..
If they are not worn, then more than likely a faulty door interlockMartin

I checked brushes and heater, put a new door lock in.
I think child lock turns on and off by holding start button for severel seconds. Still the same.
Might go back and check board connectionsNovember 15, 2012 at 8:14 am #384772jason1970

No, no……the child lock is activated and deactivated by pressing the 4th button (Clock icon) under the display panel. Press and hold for 5 secs to switch on or off. Not the start button. 😉

This bit is in the instruction book
“The childproof lock must be deactivated before
making programme changes or ending programmes.
The childproof lock can only be deactivated if the
programme for activating the childproof lock has been
selected. The KEY symbol will continue to flash if a
different progromme has been selected.
? Touch the CLOCK button and hold down (for approx. 5
seconds) until the KEY symbol goes out.
² If there is a power failure, the childproof lock
remains on.HTH

They don’t have the instruction book.
Home helps use the machine so it’s hard to know what programme was used.
It does beep when button pressed after a few seconds but key symbol stays on.
I will go back and try every programme.November 16, 2012 at 8:42 am #384778Martin

Usually a simple phone call to ask the user just to press and hold the clock button until the key symbol goes out will suffice. And will save you going back a third time! 😉

If you turn the programme selector dial untill the KEY symbol stops flashing, and is on steady, then that should be the ‘selected prog’. Then push and hold the clock button till the KEY symbol goes out.
