    Hi,

    RE: Hotpoint BWM129

The drum won’t turn and has flashing lights – SPIN and QUICK WASH.

I’m able to start a wash (but no turning/spinning) before lights start to flash – switch off the machine off – it will then drain (its pumping water out). But the main drum won’t turn/spin on wash cycle.

The belt appears to be ok and i can manually spin the drum without any thing restricting it or noises.

Can someone tell me what the problem might be?

    Thanks for your time 🙂

Can you give us the flashing lights by position number from top to bottom or left to right.

Hopefully you can get to this link
    http://sdrv.ms/SErmFQ

but if not then on the left side we have (listed top to bottom)

    – Prewash
    – Wash
    – Rise
    – Spin – *FLASHING*

on the right hand side we have (again top to bottom)

    – Delay Start
    – Super Wash
    – Quick Wash – *FLASHING*
    – Rinse Hold

    Thanks

The error codes on this Indesit :rolls: made appliance are given using the right hand buttons flashing, erro codes do not use the left hand lights.

If you have light 3 on the right flashing then it is supposed to signify a motor fault.

It could be anything, faulty motor, main pcb, poor wiring connections etc,

Indesit electronics are known to be some of the least reliable on the market so anything is possible.

If you do intend to investigate further then remove the mains plug and leave it for at least 15 minutes before putting your hands inside, it has a 3 phase motor and the pcb can pack a hefty charge.

I presume you’re saying Indesit because the bwm129 is rebrand as hotpoint. I’ve already opened the machine and wires appear to be good.

How would I determine if it’s the motor or the pcb?

    Thanks
