I have a Smeg DI612CA1 when you close the door to start the cycle
it starts up and 30 seconds later it blows the Fuse in the wall plate and trips the circut and leaves the aroma of burnt fuse
any ideas
Thanks for the info
so i have the heating element out and the block connector was fried so much so that its melted to the connection on the element i have it removed and have done a continuity test on the element and it seems to pass this is there any other reason why this would short out at the connector and i know i can buy the element but can i get a new connector to fit to the wiring
again thanks in advance
I think I have nailed it i removed the old connections and replaced the element fitted new connections and its working fine
but why did it melt the original block connector i hear you ask on close inspection there where mouse droppings in the bottom tray and although hard to tell due to burnt wires you can see what looks like bite marks
Mystery solved
Thanks once again
funny no i was disappointed about that it must have had a go when the machine was off and power only goes to the element 30 seconds after cycle starts maybe next time lol
