About three months ago I got an error code combination that was not described in the user manual. I called the engineer out and it took him 2 minutes to reset the washer.
It seems this washer has an overflow sensor setting on the pcb but is not fitted with the sensor hardware! I got error lights showing 1, 2 & 3 flashing and 5 on constantly.
After a power cut, the same error happened again so I tried the following reset.
Turn off at the power button and leave for 10 seconds.
Turn on power button and press the program button 4 times
I found that you had to be very quick pressing the program button four times after powering up. You know you’ve hit it right when then two outer lights stay lit.
Then push the program button once.
Then power off (without closing the door).
Wait 15 seconds then power up and the reset should have taken place.

It worked for me…. hope it works for you.
If not, then you may have to get an engineer to de-program the sensor on the pcb.

Thank you so much!!!!!! I was about to buy a new dishwasher as engineer told me would cost a fortune to repair. I had to try this reset procedure about 30 times before it worked, but it eventually did, I could not believe it! 😀 😀 😀

I had exactly the same problem with the machine showing first three lights flashing and the last one on constantly. I followed the reset procedure and it worked a treat. Thanks for posting the information.

Something I should mention, prior to finding out about the reset procedure for the machine I had a look to see if there was anything obviously wrong and noticed that the connection to the heating element, which is a crimp type push on connector, had become blackened and corroded. I replaced the connector and crimped it back to clean wire and it seems to be fine. It’s probably worth checking this regularly as it is an area of heavy current draw.

Re: Diplomat ADP 8242 Dishwasher RESET

I think the part you mean is the flood protection switch, in which case the dishwasher is overfilling or leaking from somewhere and the switch has failed as it should have shown an error code.

Best get an engineer to be honest for this, these Smeg manufactured dishwashers can be a pain when leaks occur.

Power off if you decide to look further yourself please :zap:
