KeymasterI have a fairly old fridge built-in to a fairly old kitchen and wish to replace the fridge magnetic door seal. The ID label inside the fridge by the salad drawer gives the various specs of the appliance and it is obviously of German manufacture. The “Type” is shown as “KE 2423-1”. There are no other markings to indicate the manufacturer.
Is there a specific seal you can identify for this fridge?
If not, is there a universal type of seal which would fit?
Where can I buy one?Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks, Ros

Ros, could you post up everthing on that plate please, I think it’s a Bosch or an AEG but the number you have already supplied isn’t recognised.
There are “universal” door seals available but to be frank, they are a nightmare to fit and even then they don’t really work very well.

Thanks for the prompt reply Dave. Hope this is of some use to you:-

Good luck with that! Thanks, Ros

O.k., thanks for that. If no-one else has any ideas I’ll try a universal type door seal. Any suggestions where I can buy one?
I tried Ezee-fix before Xmas but they don’t do them anymore.

Yes, I can get them, in fact I may even have one somewhere.
If you measure the door I’ll let you have info for the closest match.
Dave.

Good morning Dave,
I’ve measured the existing door seal. It’s 54cm x 116cm around it’s exterior edge so that’s a total of 340cm all the way around.
Hope you can help,
Ros

I have a universal one here, the description is:
“UNIVERSAL 130 x 70cm Contains 2 Ready Welded `L’ shaped Gaskets 2 Corner Joints 1 coil Magnetic Strip Superglue and Fitting Instructions”
You have to cut it to size and form/glue two of the corners.
Yours for £12.50 inc VAT and carriage if you want it.
Drop me an email and I’ll arrange for you.
Dave.
