ModeratorHad three like this in past couple of weeks. Today it was an 18 month old WDL540.
Pump and hoses all clear, set it to drain only and the pump runs for a couple of seconds then cuts out. No sign of an overload in these pumps but on all three machines I have plugged the connector into a brand new pump with exactly the same results.
I am assuming that there is a pcb fault, unless you know better. 😉

If its the linear pressure switch model then it won’t drain with out any water in it, Otherwise check the door lock, I have seen these cause a number of really strange problems on the Arcadia electronics, possibly motor as well. The module will not pump or do anything if either motor or door lock is playing up
I had one last week doing something similar, door locked and light was on as it should be but it just would not do anything. After trying everything else tried the interlock
Not seen many on these doing it though 3 is unusual.

Did you get to the bottom of this one Iadom ?
I’ve got one of these with the same fault. Customer has removed a hair grip from the filter so I’m wondering if board damage has occurred.

Thanks Tim. I have tried to reset the pressure switch also, to no avail.

I seem to remember johnnyj posting that on some occasions he has had to rewrite the eeprom.

Would the NTC stop the pump from being energised ?
The machine will fill, wash and spin when emptied manually.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint’s not draining
when the ntc fault occurs the pump runs for about 2 seconds then cuts off, reset and try again it will again run for 2 seconds etc
if you have a linear pressure switch or software issue then the pump wouldn’t run at all as the machine thinks its empty( even tho its not)

My problem was dryer NTC on washer dryer Paul. Had the same problem a few times since posting.
Pump runs for a few seconds then cuts off, common fault it seems.Allan
