    Evening,
I’ve a Hoover hdc7fm tumble dryer which won’t heat up,i’ve bought a new heating element which i’ve fitted but there’s still no heat.

Would it be possible that someone can send me a picture of the wiring connections that connect to the timer so that I know it’s wired up right.

    many thanks.

    picture to be sent to

    Afternoon.
I’m having trouble with this dryer, the drum won’t go around.
it’s been fitted with a new motor so we can dismiss this.
the heat is ok but the drum refuses to turn around.

    any advise would be greatful.

    many thanks.

    Re: Hoover

You said it was a new motor and that we should dismiss this. So presumably the motor is working….or is it….you didn’t mention that bit?

Power off and unplugged then out with be multimeter is your best way forward.

    Re: Hoover

is it a possibility that the capacitor has gone even tho it’s a new motor?

thanks for your advice by the way.

Couldn’t rule it out though if it were that you would at least hear the motor humming (trying to turn) and pretty soon smoke rising from the motor…..!

    Re: Hoover

Right, looks like I’m stripping it all down to get to the motor then.

    nice job….not.

    Re: Hoover

    Evening,

i’ve now replaced the motor but now I have a small problem.
The dryer now works but only on the last 10 minutes of the cooling cycle.

When I put in on a normal warm cycle the dryer doesn’t work & there’s a burning smell from the motor.

i’ve recently had a new timer installed, could it be possible that they have wired it up wrong?

    Many Thanks.
