ParticipantHi All
Last night the alarm on my freezer went off because it had dropped down to 11 degrees, i put the frostmatic on to put the temperature down again, this has happened again tonight at the moment its at 14 degrees. I assume it a hard fault on the freezer, does any body have an idea whats wrong and how much it will cost.
Thanks
Tally

Try a defrost for 24hrs, likely the fans either jammed with excess frost or worse case scenario its seized up & not circulating. Hopefully its not as serious as needing gas or compressor failure as this may deem it uneconomical to repair.

Hi All
Since my last post it want faulty again, an engineer came out and changed the main processor card at the top which houses the buttons,it has run ok for 3-4 months but has now started to freeze up again at the bottom of the freezer and losing temperature down to -11 overnight again. The last repair was about £150 with parts and labour luckily its under 5 year gaurantee. Had 3 repair visits now at what stage will they replace freezer ? Can i reject it ?

engineer says defrost sensor needs replacing so it will be changed tomorrow, see how it goes, warranty runs out in October so if it happens after that it will be binned an a new one bought , not an AEG
