We have a 4 year old Professional 1000. Just in the last few days, the front RH ring has stopped sparking for some reason. Gas is flowing OK, it’s all clean, and I cleaned the electrode, but although all the other rings spark OK this one doesn’t.

Funnily enough, the current is still there though, as I found out when I pressed the button whilst touching the electrode! Quite a belt!

I presume therefore that there’s a voltage drop for some reason, and not enough voltage at the electrode to induce the arc?

Anyone any advice? It’s just an electrical problem on the igniter circuit so I don’t need to do anything on the gas side. 😕

Probably the porcelain electrode is cracked? You now have first hand knowledge of the dangers of messing with high voltage and I wouldn’t advise you proceed further but call out an approved repair agent. 😉

High voltage but very low current, one presumes 😉

As you’re still around to tell the tale, a logical presumption that one has to agree with. 😉
