    Hello all,
Our ISE AW23 is in it’s third year (under warranty still) and we’ve had the engineer out on a few occasions to repair different faults (new drum and door seal, new PCB and front panel, balance problems).

Yet again though, it’s suffering from taking a good bit longer to complete a wash than the time shown on the display (a 50 minute wash may take over an hour to complete).

Also, it seems to get stuck on the last minute of the cycle and can quite happily keep on washing/spinning/draining until you switch it off!

What is wrong with this thing?
Yes, I know that I can call out an engineer to fix it but what is the underlying cause of this repetitive behaviour?

Thanks for reading this novelette and also for any advice given.

I take it you have checked the drain filter?

Regularly, why would that affect the time taken to complete a cycle though?

All the programs are dynamic and the times will change all the time depending on the conditions such as water pressure, water temperature, load size, absorbency of the laundry….

In other words, it’s a guide like almost all these times are, not cast in stone.

So, if the water isn’t heating up – would this prolong the length of the wash cycle?

No, the machine would halt and display an error code.

If the machine completes the cycle then it’s fine, the time taken will vary and that is not a fault at all, it’s perfectly correct that it should do that.

The other issue sounds like something in it (filter most likely) or the machine trying to sort an imbalanced load out.

Carrying on in the same vein, the machine is now well over two hours into a simple 30/40 mix program 😡

It’s sitting at one minute left on the display and will happily stay on that cycle all night unless I switch it off.

Surely to grief there’s something amiss?

    Yes.

But if something is stuck in the pump and it can’t drain correctly it would explain that nicely. It is the most likely cause.

Okay, I’ve removed the pump access plug, I can see the impeller and there’s nothing in there but water.

I’m now running a maintenance wash (95º cotton program) and the water is not heating up, why am I not seeing an error code on the display?

Looks like it’s engineer call out time……………again 😡
