Hi: It could be any 1 of the following causing your problem.
1) Faulty Interlock. 2)Fault in wiring to the Interlock.
3)Pause start button pressed. 4) Faulty main PCB.
You would need to do further diagnostic testing with a meter to narrow it down, but 1st check the start pause button has’nt been inadvertently pressed.May 4, 2013 at 7:28 pm #394514patchitos

ok..thanks….it’s not the pause button…..the machine otherwise functions perfectly…..i started a wash 15mins ago and the door light remained green….looked just now and it is red! at the end of a cycle there is no or little delay before i can open the door ….sometimes the lock can click a few times like it’s trying to lock….is there a way i can test the lock if i remove it? thanks…john

Hi John: The only way to properly test the Interlock is with Live testing which is something we don’t encourage or by substitution of a known good or new part. From the description in your second post is certainly sounds as if the Interlock itself is at fault, if you do decide to fit a replacement try looking in the UKWG shop. The interlock for your machine is listed there at quite a good price.

On this model the door will only lock if the water is above a certain level and if the motor is running above a certain speed E41 can be generated simply because you tried to start it without closing the door properly so it doe’s not guarantee you actually have a fault.

If you look at his second post, the door light went green & the wash cycle started and ran for a good time before the error showed up. He also points out that there’s no delay before he can open the door at the end of a cycle.

The wash cycle could well run with the green light as it may not have enough water in the drum to activate the lock. The door switch on this model is instantaneous so there is no delay

Ok I appreciate that, but would have thought they’d have noticed that they could open the door instantly before now when using the machine.

Gotta be fair, I never thought about that. Enjoy your bank holiday, no doubt we’ll find out what happens later in the week.
