The inlet water solenoid is open circuit
The other solenoid and pump show the right kind of resistance, but I get no volts from the main board to either solenoid when starting and no volts to the pump when draining or spinning.
The drum spins OK but no fill and no pump out.
So I suspect the solenoid failed and has taken out the main board.
Anybody seen this kind of fault and can confirm likely diagnosis.
I’ve seen posts that suggest the triac blows, I’d be happy to replace it if anyone has a part number.

    Many thanks for advice

Your diagnosis seems very plausible. Confirmation can easily be established by carefully inspecting the triac in question. It’s usually the one that has blown its black plastic cover. The other triacs have an identical ratings so the component number can be read from one of them if you wish to try sourcing one. Maplins, Farnell, Radiospares etc……

A word of caution though, finding a blown triac might not be the only failing of the PCB. Other factors may give rise to the faults like this. It is a Hoover after all said and done don’t forget. 😉

    Thanks
I can see a tiny pinhole in one of the Triacs. I’ll try to source a direct replacement or equivalent and give it a try.
Worst case I’ll source a new board.
